We served this alongside some potato chips and carrots and celery. Will make again, but next time will probably add a little more salt, and maybe cook the onions just a little bit longer.
This is a good dip, but it had a slightly sweet quality we just didn't care for. Maybe the onions caramalized a bit.
I was skeptical, thinking this wouldn't have enough flavor but it is soooo tasty. Would definitely serve to company.
Delicious and easy!
We thought this was great!! I accidentally added a few of the onions to the mix prior to sauteing and couldn't fish them back out - so I left it and enjoyed a little of their flavor mixed with the sauteed onion -- might make that mistake part of my recipe! Served with baked potato chips and veggies when we had CL's Steak and Cheese Sandwiches with Mushrooms. Can't wait to make it for a party!
OMG...make this NOW!!! I did sauté the onions much longer, until caramelized, (about 15 minutes once I reduced the heat)... Well worth the extra time!! As DonnaNJ stated..."this is incredibly superior to the onion soup mix version" This is my new "go to" onion dip recipe!!! If you have the time, do yourself a favor and make this a day ahead of time...it gets even better after it sits overnight!!
This was such an easy and wonderful dip. The taste is so incredibly superior to the onion soup mix version. It is well worth the added step of sauteeing the onions. Delicious!
