This is one of the worst dishes I have prepared! Threw most of it out!

1 lb. lean ground beef
2 onions, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
1-1/2 c. water
6-oz. can tomato paste
1 t. vinegar
7-oz. can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 c. celery, diced
1 green pepper, diced
8-oz. pkg. sharp pasteurized process cheese spread, cubed
salt and pepper to taste
8-oz. pkg. wide egg noodles, uncooked
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown beef, onions and garlic. Drain; stir in water, tomato paste and vinegar. Add remaining ingredients except noodles. Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, cook noodles according to package directions; drain and return to cooking pot. Stir in beef mixture. Cover and simmer over low heat until heated through, about 15 minutes. For a casserole-style dish, transfer beef and noodle mixture to a greased 3-quart casserole dish. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, until hot and bubbly. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
Instructions call for "tomato paste"- not included in ingredients list - please review and revise so correct recipe is posted
thanks
I was told that John Marzette was the butler at my Aunt's home. This is the dish he always prepared on Fridays when the cook was off. It was made with ground pork, not beef, and did not include corn or mushrooms. I now substitute italian sausage. It is simple but amazingly good.
