Our Core Values
Two Swords BJJ Academy draws its inspiration and core values from the Samurai. These ethics or values focus on attitude, compassion, integrity, discipline, honor, loyalty, respect and most important family. All students are taught that the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu path is a long and hard road. It is a marathon not a sprint. Each student understands that everyone at the school is going through the same thing, but we are all going through it together. The mantra “if I make you better…you will make me better” is extremely important to the school values at Two Swords BJJ Academy. The school believes in the strengthening of the individual by challenging the mind and spirit makes the school as a whole stronger too. We welcome all students who are ready to commit to these values and study martial arts as a true-life path.

Master Helio Gracie’s innovational spirit can be seen in the present day evolution of BJJ. It seems that every year there are new techniques and ways to combine them with each other. BJJ is a true art. Other martial arts have a set number of techniques and a certain way to learn them. BJJ has hundreds of techniques to learn from which allows the martial artist to pick and chose what works best for him or her. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is presently one of the core components of both the Army and Marine Corps Combatives Systems.
