These easy refried black beans are a breeze to whip up, and make a delicious addition to any taco night or nacho platter. Of course, we especially love to use them for our Freezer Breakfast Burritos

  • Heat a medium skillet over medium heat. Add oil, and heat, then add cayenne powder, cumin powder and garlic powder. Stir to combine with oil, then sizzle for about 30 seconds until spices smell delicious.

  • Add the black beans with their liquid (do not drain the beans) and 1/4 cup water. Add salt, and stir to combine. Bring to a low simmer, then cook 10 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat and let cool slightly; use a stiff metal or wooden spoon to smash the beans into a rough paste. Let cool.
