Cioppino-Style Seafood Stew
Inspired by the famed San Francisco meal-in-a-bowl, this comes together with minimal fuss. Serve it with Parmesan toast.

Love this easy-to-follow and tasty recipe! I added a cup of white wine as well for extra broth and taste.
It was very good, but it needed noodles in my opinion. It just needed more substance.
My wife and I (or rather my wife) made this stew and overall it was pretty good. Definitely needed more salt as it was a little bland.
This was great & fast enough for a weeknight dinner. I used mussels frozen in a box from Safeway. Served with bread as suggested.
A very simple recipe that didn't taste simple. Was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out. I did add the extra 1/2 cup of wine that others suggested. Won't say that it had the qualtity or taste of a restaurant recipe but is definitely a keeper. Make sure to serve with a crusty bread!
I thought this was just ok. I have had more flavorable cioppinos, for sure. But it was quick for a weeknight.
Looks and tastes beautiful...i ended up adding a 1/4 cup white wine for extra broth (personal preference). The recipe is very versatile too...add fish, remove shrimp, add extra mussles, etc. and its still fantastic.
I made this for my husband tonight and he liked it. He loves spicy food, so I added more crushed red pepper than the recipe called for (@ 1.5 teaspoon). I also did not have any parsley. I know that the normal substitute for parsley is cilantro (which I didn't have either), so I used 1/2 teaspoon basil and 1/2 teaspoon oregano (store bought in a glass jar). With these changes, I thought the broth was fantastic. The only changes I would make would be to add more seafood into the dish. A great crusty bread is a must for this dish!! Enjoy!!
Great recipe. Healthy and Flavorful. I cooked as written. Scallops were just a little tough. Personally, I thought it would be better with a scoop of white rice. Next time I will try adding rice at the end. Super fast and easy. Serve with French Bread. It did have a little heat so I might lay off the red pepper if I was making it for my kids.
This was amazing! I cut the seafood amounts in half and still had plenty for 3+ hearty portions. It was simply delicious and filling. I served it with Alexia garlic bread and a vinho verde sparkling wine. Yum! I will definitely make again and possibly for a special occasion!
Very simple, few ingredients, however this cioppino is very flavorful. Super quick and easy to make.
1st, infuse oil with red pepper flakes & garlic. then strain the oil. Then proceed.
This is a great tasting low fat recipe. I've made this many times, but with a couple of exceptions: Do not add the shrimp until the last 2-3 minutes or they will be tough. You can alter the amounts of each of the types of seafood as well as the other ingredients with the same good result. White wine is a nice addition and I use fresh garlic instead of bottled.
