Not bad, eliminated salt. Cooked rice as I did not have boil in bags.
I can't honestly review this recipe as is because I was nervous w/ all the previous comments about it being very bland. My version Includes following ingredients :
6 servings of brown rice
2 tablespoon olive oil
1c diced onions
8 ounces presliced mushrooms
1 1/4lb cubed chicken skinless
I omitted salt/pepper
1 (12-ounce) bag microwave-in-bag fresh broccoli florets
1 (10 1/2oz empty soup can) whole milk
1 (10 1/2oz) can cream of mushroom soup
2 c finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese
After reading reviews, I too tried to add a little more flavor. I used a large clove of garlic and sauteed with the onion and mushrooms. I prepared the white sauce in a small saucepan and added some fresh grated nutmeg and added to chicken mixture. Delicious! Will make again!
Good basic recipe. Will make again but will doctor heavily. Add Garlic; substitute cream of chicken or celery soup for part of the milk to start and definitely more cheese.
Although this was a quick easy recipe to make, it was very bland. I would recommend adding additional seasonings, maybe garlic and onions.
Came together quickly and is a good solid recipe that handles substitutions well.
This was easy to whip up, but had no taste. I had to add lots of garlic powder to my own serving, and my husband doused it in Frank's Red Hot Sauce. MIGHT make again, but would doctor it up quite a bit. I used reduced fat sharp cheddar shredded cheese, and nonfat milk. Omitted the mushrooms due to one family member, but would add it back in for just my husband and me.
This was delicious and quick and easy. We used chicken broth instead of milk and it still turned out great. Some tweaks were a few cloves of garlic, a pound of chicken breasts instead of thighs, and a little bit more cheese. My husband loved it.
I've been cooking for years and just yesterday made this recipe. It was terrible. It did not have any flavor and by the way, just mixing milk with flour gave it a very poor taste. I will not be making this again.
Super easy and Hubby loved it. Will definitely make again! I used chicken breasts (because that's what I had) and canned mushrooms.
This is a recipe I'll make again and again. The favors blend well and it's so easy. I Didn't have fresh mushrooms so I used canned (2) and it was still delicious. One more tweak... I used a full pound of chicken.
Another winner in this month's issue. It went together quickly and was very good. I did add a little bit more cheese (about 5 ounces instead of 3).
