I made these for a Christmas Cookie Swap Party, and they were voted “Best tasting”. I added about 1-1 1/2 tsp orange zest to the dough and 1/4 tsp orange extract to the icing. I think these are my new favorite!
These cookies are THE BOMB! While the icing adds a nice, strong eggnog flavor, I might like them a little better without (although you can't go wrong either way). When it comes to cooking and baking I typically don't commend myself but this was one of those moments for sure!
SO good! I love the mix of spice and sweet! Will make again and again
Great flavor! The eggnog icing was fabulous! Everyone loved them!
This is my second year making these. Last year they disappeared as soon as I could make them - every person wanted "just one more" at work until they each had 3 or 4. There is something addictive about them. I use Twinnings Chai Tea with fine results. I prefer the icing a little thinner and watch the nutmeg carefully, it can get to be too much. Mine need 10 minutes in the oven, 2 minutes on the hot sheets and then cool on cool racks.
Delicious! I love the strong egg-nog-y flavor...they are perhaps just ever-so-slightly too sweet for me, so I will be able to stop myself after just one. A plus in my book! They are like biting into Christmas!
Frosting was delightful. I could not taste very much of the eggnog, however.
Absolutely love these super easy cookies! My co-workers and friends have gobbled them up and I will for sure make them again and again. I did not squish them down with a glass and they were still yummy but just took a bit longer to cook.
Wonderful taste and easy to make. Imagine dunking snickerdoodles in eggnog--YUM! My office is raving about them right now. Because dough was so soft, I popped it in the freezer for a few minutes before scooping it out and putting on the baking sheets.
