Buffalo Quinoa Burgers
This is the kind of satisfying, protein-rich veggie burger everyone will love, kicked up with a splash of hot sauce.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed these! Loved the texture and the taste. Easy to put together for a quick weeknight dinner. We have had them both with the buffalo sauce and without. When eating without the buffalo sauce, we added a slice of cheese and some mayo on the bread. Nice alternative to black bean burgers.
Even though I enjoy eating a beef burger on occasion, I am more than willing to try healthier, vegetarian options with an open mind. The first thing I will mention is that my kitchen is a disaster after making this sandwich. Two dirty pans, a plate, a bowl, and the food processor, as well as the customary cutting board, knives and measuring devices. On top of that, my food processor was not big enough for all the ingredients, and the resulting efforts to remedy this situation looks like a volcano erupted on the counter top.Even after emptying most of the contents from the food processor, the ingredients were too 'gooey' to get down into the blades. It just sat there, stuck to the sides. It probably wasn't a good idea to add some water to get everything thin enough for the machine to process the food. I agree with a previous reviewer that it would have been a lot easier (and less messy) to use a potato masher.Second, it took a lot of time. (probably a good hour) to make these burgers, if you include all the chopping, cooking, cooling and fighting with the food processor.Once it was cooked, the patties were still very mushy (remember, I added some water...don't do that). I only cooked two of the patties. I froze the other two, and am going to try using the George Forman or the outdoor grill instead of a frying pan. While it was far from the worst veggie burger I've ever had, it just didn't seem to have much flavor. If I were to ever try this recipe again I would:-Add some fresh jalapeno peppers or maybe some ground cayenne -Cilantro, somewhere (yes, this is getting away from "Buffalo")-Use the potato masher instead of the food processor-Just put the hot sauce on straight, no extra oil
All ingredients came together well, and the end result was as described. I used Frank's hot sauce and while I would have liked a little mayo, thus undoing the healthy aspect of this recipe, it was otherwise pretty tasty.
Basic recipe is ok but needs a bit more spice- we added mushrooms, herbs de Provence, bit more salt, celery seed- and next time I will not put it in the food processor- only mash the beans and mix all together
This recipe was just not good. Extremely labor intensive with a poor result. The patty is grainy, dry, and bland. I took two bites and couldn't eat any more. Go with a black bean burger instead if you're looking for a veg option.
