These were really good and really easy. I chopped the mushrooms in a food processor and chopped up the water chestnuts pretty small and used ground chicken instead of turkey.
This is one of my family's favorite recipes. I make it about once a month and one of my daughters requested it for her birthday dinner. To serve 6, I use a 20 oz. package of ground turkey, double all of the veggies and the sauce and add 1/2 a package of coleslaw toward the end for extra crunch. I substitute about a teaspoon of chili garlic sauce for the sriracha in the doubled sauce and the heat level is perfect for us. I serve it with Filipino garlic rice (brown rice, lots of garlic, scrambled eggs, and soy sauce stir fried in canola oil). It is a delicious meal that we all love!
These were amazing!!! The sauce is so flavourful and the best part but I stuck with the half tablespoon on each cup. Other reviews say the meat it bland but it's suppose to be or or you would have too many contrasting flavors. There are higher calorie recipes out there for lettuce cups so perhaps those might suit them better. For 2 lettuce cups under 300 calories is great for dinner. Or add half a cup of brown rice as a side dish (109 calories) if you need more food.
Excellent with a few changes. Turkey mixture was unbelievably bland by itself, but I added some soy sauce and a bit Sriracha to it and it was much better. Adding some of the sauce would be great too, but I wasn't sure how my kids would like the sauce, so I didn't. Next time I probably will. I also used a lot more garlic and ginger than called for also. I will use a lot more onion and mushroom next time too. But it is a great idea for a light and healthy summer meal and my family all liked it, which is almost a miracle at our house.
Not bad but there was a lot of chopping and prep work for a just ok dish. Ended up doubling the sauce and mixing it with the turkey mixture which was very plain without it.
One of my favorite go-to dishes for company! I usually double the sauce (the turkey mixture is pretty bland). If you have kids or folks with sensitive stomachs, you can leave out the sriracha for a tasty alternative!
My husband and I found these to be delicious IF you mix the sauce in with the turkey and veggies before serving. The turkey mixture is pretty flavorless without the sauce. I'll definitely make this again! Next time, I'm going to use more mushrooms and water chestnuts so the mixture will be more crunchy and not so meat-heavy.
We made this tonight and it was VERY good. We actually poured the sauce in with the meat and cooked it all together. This is a messy but yummy dish!
Wow, a great dish and so refreshing. It was a 100 degree plus day and I was looking for a lighter meal. These fit the bill. They were prepared per the recipe. The way my family loved these they serve 4 not 6. This will be in our rotation.
These were.... awesome! Simple, but with the signature rich mix and crispy lettuce crunch that is usually found in a restaurant. A little bit messy but that really just adds to the fun. I used regular ice berg lettuce, and threw in a few more water chestnuts because I love the crunch.
great dish..easy to make my whole family liked it..I also mixed the sauce in with the turkey mixture..it is a keeper
WONDERFUL DISH - MY HUSBAND THOUGHT I BROUGHT HOME CHINESE TAKE-OUT - HE DIDN'T BELIEVE I MADE IT...BEST IF MIX SAUCE WITH TURKEY MIXTURE VERSUS AS A DIPPING SAUCE. I WILL DEFINATELY MAKE TO IMPRESS GUESTS.
These are great! I agree they are messy, but well worth the extra napkin.
I've made this recipe two times already and my husband and son both love it. I followed the recipe exactly and would not change anything. Very spicy and delicious.
I made this using Morningstar Crumbles instead of the ground turkey. I prefer iceburg's crunchiness for these wraps. Otherwise, I followed the recipe and they were delicious. The whole family ate them up. So good for you too. Very filling, and easy to make.
AMAZING! I usually add things to recipes to give it more flavor, but this recipe needed no help! I used regular button and baby portobello mushrooms, and I used iceberg lettuce because my grocery store was out of butterhead lettuce. These are soo good!! Great, refreshing summertime meal, but I will be making these all year because they are so tasty!
We made this without shiitakes (my hubby hates mushrooms) and I doubled the sauce recipe, otherwise, exactly as recipe states. This was really tasty and came together very fast! I loved the heat and thought it was better (and way healthier!) than the lettuce cups from P.F. Changs! We will definitely be making this again!
Easy and delicious! I only used 1/2 of the Siracha because my daughter doesn't like spicy, but it still had great flavor. I added the turkey directly to the mushrooms, then mixed everything together, sauce included, in the saucepan once the turkey/mushroom mix was done. We couldn't find boston lettuce, so used romaine lettuce and made "boats"!
This is much tastier than I expected it would be. We love spicy, so I put in a bit more sriracha than was listed, but otherwise made as written. A hit with my husband!
Wow! A big hit with our twenty to thirty-something kids! Amazing flavor for a healthy dish. I tripled the garlic and ginger and used chile-garlic sauce instead if sriracha. Will definitely make this again and again. I served this with steamed jasmine rice and stir-fried veggies.
This was easy and delicious. I did not use lettuce cups; just had it for lunch as the turkey mixture. I did not think it was particularly spicy.
Very easy and DELICIOUS. I combined the sauce with the meat mixture before serving and I liked that better. The sauce is really outstanding. We are putting this in the regular rotation.
Deeeeeeeeeeee-licious! Will definitely make again!
This was delicious! Highly recommend it! Since some of us cannot eat spicy foods, I decided to make 1/2 the sauce spicy and the other 1/2 not spicy. It was great!
Not only is this easy to make, it is totally delicious! Whole family enjoyed this recipe! I could not find the Boston leaves and used Butter lettuce instead.
